It wasn't long ago that Mathael de Bourbagne was not who he is today. Mathis Forester, a young Gridanian native with many brothers and sisters was born to a family of well-reputed carpenters and botanists. He was not as obsessed with saws and harvesting scythes as the rest of his family, instead harboring a deep fascination with the skill of lancers and archers.A bit of a black sheep in his family, his obsession grew and he joined the Lancer's Guild and the God's Quiver to turn his fascination into skill. With time, he would join the Order of Twin Adders and set off earning his place in the world. But a fateful excursion to North Shroud and the border for Coerthas changed his life.

Now, as Mathael de Bourbagne, he strives to leave a lasting legacy of honor, pride, ambition, and compassion. The sole remaining heir to the Ishgardian noble House de Bourbagne, a few things in his life were turned upside down, but as ever, Mathael strives to maintain a positive attitude and handle adjustments as they come to the best of his capabilities.

Mathael is now firmly into his fortieth winter and beyond. Thankfully, the life he's lived has helped keep his youthful demeanor intact.He stands at the shorter end of the Elezen height spectrum, and features a lithe, firm, muscular frame thanks to his very specific dragoon training regiment. His eyes are green as Gridanian grass, as if Nophica herself made them so he would never forget his home.

Personality

Mathael is nothing if not polite and tactful. Generally aware of social manners and etiquette, he will avoid most things that draw eyes to him and the company he either willingly or unwillingly keeps. That does lend itself to appearing standoffish or aloof. He is, however, friendly and willing to trust someone more often than not.

As far as family and other relationships are concerned, Mathael is one of five children to his adoptive father and biological mother, but the only one of Ishgardian heritage.Beyond that, any other connections would be gleaned through discussion. Perhaps you can count yourself among them?

He is not played as a dark knight, but he's roughly as skilled as one in terms of technique and power. He's a competent archer, as well.Mathael has also been taking up learning the pan flute and can be seen playing what is, truthfully, one of only a few tunes he knows.An exceptionally rare hook - The Bourbagne estate took their own lives in a ritualistic intake of poisoned drink to avoid the shame of their affiliation with the Heaven's Ward. While not impossible to have heard, typically only others affiliated with the Holy See or Heaven's Ward would be aware of this.
